The Silver Chain
Life is a silver chain,
Our soul is the pendant.
As a pendant, we long to look lovely and glamorous,
As some do, while others become unattractive and dark.
The beautiful pendant is bright and brings joy to a darkened room,
While the dark pendant screams hate and strikes fear into all whom it meets.
The world is full of pendants,
Yet only those that hang on the chain of Christ will glow,
While those on the chain of selfishness will grow unattractive day by day.
The one who wears the necklace has the choice,
Hide, or abide in the ways of it’s pendant.
