A Not Too Long Post but a Not Too Short Message

I’m going to be honest here. I don’t really know how to begin my post today. I know what to write about, but I don’t know how to begin. My mind feels blank and I’m brain storming and searching for the right group of words to make it perfect. I’m still thinking. If you’ve noticed, I haven’t blogged for a while and my posts have been pretty far spaced. It’s really bothered me every time I see my computer in the morning saying,”Blog on me!” More importantly, Christ has been prodding me to write. I’ve ignored the prods for far too long. So, today not knowing how to start my post is simply Satan trying to discourage me from writing. “Well, it’s not going to work.” Christ wants me to blog today because I have been selected to encourage those that read his words through me and I am like a precious diamond to Him that He wants to show around and polish.

Today I read, in my over sized lime green moon chair, I read about a group of Levites that David sought (Chronicles 26:31-32). When he finally found them, he made them officials and there were two hundred thousand seven hundred of them! I found it interesting, because before they were made great, they had to be discovered and had to be sought after for their ability.

In the presence of the great God we serve, we are sought by Him to be made great and we sometimes have to discover our own worth through Him before we can be used by Christ for His Kingdom. He searched for us and when He found us, He knew we were the perfect ones for His purpose!

It reminds me of in the Lord of the Rings when Gandalf chooses Sam Gamgee to accompany Frodo on his journey. Sam is deathly afraid Gandalf will do something to him, but the old and wise wizard can see through Sam’s appearance and knows how great of a friend he will be to Frodo. And he was right.

In our lives, Christ chooses us for a purpose only we can fulfill. We are his sought after treasure and his diamond in the rough, his one and only perfect treasure!

This may not be the longest post ever, but I believe I found something to write about!

All for now,

Emily 😀

The Benedictions

Hello World!

Today I have come to help reveal the hidden talent of two incredible musicians! I have always followed Joy Clarkson’s blog and have always loved the songs she has made on her Joy-tunes page (click here for that) and I really was not surprised when her and her musical genius brother Joel have created and are about to release their new album! I have been assigned to give a review of their album and I intend to do just that :).

Describing the album in three words is difficult, but I finally narrowed it down to my favorites: inspiring, musically balanced, and beautiful. Personally, my favorite song was “Blind”. When I first heard Blind, I was driven to joy and my soul thrived off the words. My favorite line is: “Or maybe I’m crazy for thinking someone could love me for me.” It’s really a beautiful statement especially for women because we constantly change who we are to gain attention and love. The melodies are gorgeous and I especially loved the piano and guitar. I would highly recommend this album for it’s inspiring lyrics and soothing melodies! Well done Joy and Joel! Can’t wait to see what else the Lord has in store for you both!
